Gator has been pushed a lot on shareware websites as the ultimate tool to save passwords and usernames and automatically fill in forms for you. My experience when using it was that it was unreliable in filling in forms and you never quite know where thos passwords etc are being stored. Now it comes to light that in new versions at least that Gator actually downloads adverts (a pain on a dialup modem) and also adds banners over the top of competitors adverts. More detail on this can be found at the contracostatimes web site. Also some spyware websites such as Spychecker also class it as spyware.

Grrrrr it really annoys me when support emails to companies go totally unread for a month or more and then when you've forgotten about it they tell you that they cant be bothered - just like this one :-

The book you are requesting assistance on is no longer in publication and therefore outside of our support guidelines. Replacement media is also unavailable.
If the author has listed his/her email address in the front of the book, please feel free to contact him/her directly for further support.
Otherwise, I am sorry that I cannot offer any further assistance.

Imagine a virtual world teeming with artificial life. This virtual world is an ocean, and the ocean is populated with a diverse and abundant ecology. Sea horses float among coral reefs, schools of fish dart and weave to evade hungry predators, a mother humpback whale and her calf migrate to cooler waters to feed... Myriad beautiful autonomous creatures are caught in the web of life that plays out before your eyes. As a user you are able to build and influence the ecology of the world, sculpt the surroundings, breed artificial life, or create new life forms from scratch.

Sound like the sort of thing you would like to have running on your computer then check out DaliWorld

Well we've now joined the 21st Century and are now the proud owners of a ProLine DVD Player - a review of this can be found at What VideoTV.com. Obtained from Comet it seems a bargain AND it can be hacked to play multi-region dvd's

Just how stupid are some people? The Australian police had to blow up a whale that had died and was floating off the coast as sharks were feeding off it. Although not stupid by itself, the stupidity came from the tourists who were going out in boats to climb on the whales back and pet the sharks nose's as they swam about the whale! Full details available from the BBC News
