Someon has far too much time - the "familiar guy" is now appearing in even more places - check it out as its pretty amusing!

Got the December - yes December issue of PcPro today (20th OCTOBER!!!) and read an interesting article. If you do not have the latest service packs installed on your machine, then Windows Update will not display a lot of the patches available to you. ALSO even if you do have the latest service pack and all the patches that WindowsUpdate recommends, then you will still end up with a lot of patches not installed. This can be proved by running hfnetchk and looking and crying at the sheer number of patches that you still have to install! Apparently windows update is not updated very often so patchers beware! Decided to put the word jinklouset in this web page so that i could be the only web page that is picked up by google when searching for this word. The scary thing is that I actually found this "word" by reading an article on passwords. Its not actually a real word but is made up of a sequence of pronouncable two character sylables. junkleouset created at 13.19 on the 16th Oct see if Google has found it yet. Been having a bit of a problem with Webwasher but that was because I downloaded a big filter list to get rid of a lot of the adverts and chaff around onthe internet at the moment. problem was that it was blocking some of the pages referenced from my site and changing the text to nothing! Once that was fixed everything was all go again! Interesting thing is that it also blocked altavista's lite engine at av.com

Cool Tv!! Just turned on the tv and Channel4 had some car racing at Goodwood racecourse near where I used to live. Rowan Atkinson and Stirling Moss are sharing the same car, a Jaguar Mk7 so some really famous drivers. It looks really weird to see some of these old cars racing, including minis, Austin Minors and cars that I am suprised are driveable let alone raceable! Sunday, October 07, 2001
Just added some more anti-spam measures to my mail server. Most of the spam which is asking me to register .info domains is due to the fact that you should really have a legit email address in existing domain registrations. I had a filter which filtered out all of these spams and it was getting every one of them - until some more started coming in - They had my email address in the cc or bcc field so i've changed the rules to filter these out and they work wonderfully. Obviously legitimate email gets through but I'm not saying how here :-) Saturday, October 06, 2001
